Good hydration is critical for long endurance events, especially cycling as improper hydration can impact energy levels and can cause muscle spasms or cramps.

Not much had changed with bottles and bottle cages in the cycling industry until XLab entered the game and drove some innovation. A love for Triathlons and a passion for speed lead to the birth of the company, a family-owned business based in San Diego – the Mecca of Triathlon.

HOW THEY STARTED

Xlab was formed to address racing needs and an obsession for speed. Aerodynamic designs are of great importance, especially in the Triathlon and Time-Trialing domains. Craig Turner from XLab began the era of major advances in hydration, nutrition and repair storage on bicycles.

Xlab has been in the industry for over 20 years, constantly innovating and producing some of the world’s best hydration, nutrition and repair solutions for cyclists, triathletes and time trialists all over the world.

The first brand to develop innovative hydration and nutrition storage solutions including two-bottle rear carriers that also held spares and tools, horizontal bottle mounts, one-piece refillable horizontal bottle systems and carbon bottle cages for specific locations on triathlon and time trial bikes.

Unlike many of their competitors, XLab drives R&D, design and manufacturing in-house highlighting the knowledge, expertise, and dedication that the company brings to this space.

The company also has 40+ years of designing for companies like Lockheed and Boeing.

No wonder they’re considered the best in the business.
