WPL TUBELESS SEALANT

WPL’s Race Ready Tubeless Sealant is powered by nano-technology and a bio-based formula that harnesses natural fibrous tissue that seals punctures ranging from 1 micrometre up to 1/2″ in size.

The Nanoparticles fill the pores in the rubber tires preventing air loss, and larger particles are emulsified in a solution engineered to perform in all temperature ranges.

WPL HIGH-PERFORMANCE SUSPENSION OILS

WPL’s sports a wide array of high-performance, premium suspension oils which are developed in collaboration with professional MTB athletes and mechanics based in Whistler, BC, Canada.

It’s designed for use in both forks and shocks, with its ‘triple ester’ technology protecting internal parts against wear and friction.

WPL’s formula increases corrosion inhibition, detergency, and thermal stability within the suspension. The bio-degradable, non-toxic formula is safe for use by mechanics and release into the environment.

Most fork oils will come with a rating of their weight (WT). This refers to how thick the oil is otherwise known as its viscosity. If water is 0 and tar is 100 you start to get an idea of what thickness 5 weight oil will be.

Most manufacturers will recommend an oil weight for their forks but you can use different weight fluids to change the characteristics of the damper. A thicker weight oil will slow a system down and a thinner oil will make it faster.

Heat can affect oils dramatically and as an example, some lubricants can double in viscosity with only a 5 °C change.
You can mix oils to obtain a diluted weight. However, if you mix 10wt and 5wt you won’t necessarily get 7.5wt because you have to take into account an equation called the Refutas equation, the laws of dilution, volume percentage and molarity and this is a very exact science.

Some fluids are obviously not suitable for use in fluid dampers so we need to make sure we are using specific suspension fluid. The reason for this is because of an effect called hydrodynamic cavitation.

Cavitation occurs when a liquid is subjected to rapid changes of pressure causing the formation of cavities in the lower pressure regions of the liquid. Simply put, the fluid turns into bubbles or foam. Bubbles have very little use in a damper offering little or no damping characteristics. Manufacturers of suspension fluids work very hard to minimize this cavitation in the fluid.
