The July BBCh race is gonna be the first Downhill race ever in Bangalore – and we were trying to figure out the best way to introduce this discipline here.
A Downhill camp – yeah !!!!
- 2/3 weekend – Introduction to DH racing
- 9/10 weekend – Trail maintenance
- 6/17 weekend – Race weekend
3 June – Introduction to DH racing
Start off with a workshop of basic DH Skills at Turhalli – cornering, braking, controlled skids, pressures and bunny hops and wheelies. Our resident downhill expert Nelly will be handling this.
Play a good DH movie at BOTS – to learn and get inspired.
We have created a facebook event for this.
If you are the anti-social kinds, just leave us a message or send us an email at admin@bangalorebicyclechampionships.com
9/10 weekend – Trail maintenance

16/17 Weekend – The Race – Conducted in proper DH style
- 16 July (saturday) – official practice session
- 17 July (sunday) – Race day – 1 qualifier + 1 run
The DH stretch is less than a km long. Not too long, but good for the first DH race.
The DH stretch is fast and short – a good spectator sport. So call your friends and family. Should be loads of fun.
WHAT I LOVE ABOUT CYCLING
I love riding my bike. Whether it’s a simple commute, a high-intensity road race, a jaw-grinding brevet, fixie rides thru packed Indian city or a kick-ass technical single track – I love it all. Apart from riding bicycles, I love being all geeky and know everything there is to know about bicycles, technology, bike fit, and service.
I started BUMSONTHESADDLE to share this passion for cycling.
DISCIPLINE: Partial towards MOUNTAIN BIKING but love it all
CURRENT BIKE(S): Specialized Rockhopper, Specialized Tarmac, Pure Cycles Original
DREAM BIKE: S-Works Epic HT & S-Work Roubaix
OTHER PASSIONS: Technology, Photography, Baking, Travel, and Reading
