Starting this Sunday (27 October) Bangalore celebrates Cycle Day!
Cycle Day, an initiative to increase usage of green, sustainable and non motorized mode of mobility called cycling in the City of Bengaluru!
More and more people are beginning to adopt cycling as a healthy, green, economical and fun alternative to driving. In a city like Bengaluru, a cycle sometimes offers a faster commute than motorized transport! There are few better ways to get to know this city than by cycling through its landscape, drinking in its myriad sights and sounds. The year-round brilliant weather makes the experience that much sweeter.
On the last Sunday of every month, fall in love with Bangalore all over again with an early morning leisure ride to Cubbon Park. There’s no fixed starting point, ride from wherever you like. If you live too far away, you carry your cycle with you on any BMTC volvo bus and head to Cubbon Park. You can even rent cycles at Cubbon Park and participate in the event activities Don’t worry if you haven’t cycled in years, rediscover the joy of cycling this Cycle Day.
On October 27th, get outdoors, enjoy the fresh air, scenery, and the sense of freedom and abandon that cycling is all about!
Organized by the Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT) in partnership with cycling communities, civic groups and BMTC.
Come ride a bike with the rest of Bangalore this Sunday!

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT CYCLING
I love riding my bike. Whether it’s a simple commute, a high-intensity road race, a jaw-grinding brevet, fixie rides thru packed Indian city or a kick-ass technical single track – I love it all. Apart from riding bicycles, I love being all geeky and know everything there is to know about bicycles, technology, bike fit, and service.
I started BUMSONTHESADDLE to share this passion for cycling.
DISCIPLINE: Partial towards MOUNTAIN BIKING but love it all
