The Specialized Roubaix Pro is an endurance road tire that’s well suited for smooth and rough roads alike. That’s because it’s fast like any competitive road tire, only it features a bead-to-bead Endurant casing, plus patented Specialized BlackBelt technology for puncture protection. This way, it rolls smooth over any terrain.

SPECIALIZED GEEK TALK

  • ENDURANT – overlapped, three-layer casing for triple-wall protection
  • BLACKBELT – a woven strip under the tread for puncture protection
  • GRIPTON – propritory compound to reduce rolling resistance & increase traction

THINGS TO LOOK FOR IN A TRAINING OR ENDURANCE ROAD TIRE

DURABILITY – Flat protection is important! The Roubaix Pro uses two flat-protection technologies: Blackbelt, a woven strip under the tread, and Endurant, which is what Specialized calls its overlapped, three-layer casing. Covered bead to bead for ultimate peace of mind. No punctures or tire rips on the tread as well as the side wall.

COMFORT – riders end up spending a lot of time on the bike which can lead to fatigue. The Specialized Roubaix tires have a special 23/25C casing format – 23C tread on a 25C casing! Larger volume of a 25C but the tread that is in contact with the road is 23C to minimise rolling resistance. The larger side wall absorb the buzz from bad roads.

LONGETIVITY & DURABILITY – Endurant tech give tires long life and 2 wear indicators embedded into the tire. You need these tires to last long and maintain the ride characteristics all along.

ACCELERATION & HIGH SPEED CORNERING – The patented and highly acclaimed Gripton compound in the tires inspire confidence as it grips roads with better traction in both wet and dry weather. As Specialized says – black magic in your tires!

WEIGHT – Whilst weight is not really the biggest thing to consider while buying endurance or training tires, it is an important tire characteristics which impacts ride quality. The Specialized Roubaix Pro’s are not as light as some of the uber light racing tires out there but are light enough to pass off as a competitive road tire.

Yup, these are some of the better tires we’re ever used and well received by a ton of riders across India.

KEEN TO RIDE THESE TIRES?
