some scenes from the Indiranagar cycle day yesterday
It’s been a pleasure to watch a year’s worth of “Cycle Day’s” go by! We have been a part – active and passive – of every single one of them and are super kicked to know that Bangalore is demanding more!
Although the event started with thousands of cyclists thronging Cubbon park and going for a short ride around it, a Cycle Day nowadays has a lot going on – closed off roads with fun games seem to draw kids like magnets from TV’s and their iPads onto simple tarmac!
These initiatives temporarily close streets to automobile traffic, so that people may use them for fun – cycling, games, walking, playing, skateboarding, yoga etc!
A few more localities have signed up to the Open Street concept and we should be seeing them in the following locations.
- HSR Layout
- Whitefield (new)
- Malleshwaram (new)
- Jayanagar (new) – hoping to involve BOTS in this.
- Rajarajeshwari Nagar (new)
Absolutely great! Looking forward to a new, happier, fitter Bangalore.
Next month is gonna be the one year celebration and we are looking at something BIG!
