It’s been a while since we ran our Wheels of Change program and we are super happy to be a part of the initiative at Bharat Electronics Limited (B.E.L) and see the change the program brought about!

BOTS Wheels of Change - bike/bicycling to work at BEL Bangalore read the article online

Some stats from the workshop

  • About 75 folks pedaled to work the next day
  • 60 executives attended the seminar on cycling
  • The now have a facebook page PEDAL2WORK with a focus on building commuters and also getting folks to cycle on weekends!

All it requires some kickass employees, like Kartik MS and Arun Suri, and a workplace that is keen to give cycling a shot and magic will happen!

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) Officers’ Club has launched ‘Pedal to Work’, an initiative where employees are asked to cycle to work one day each month. Employees who do not have bicycles are being coaxed to rent one. The initiative was launched in November. Employees say that the aim is to reduce traffic to nil in the campus at least on one day each month.

Great going BEL! Absolutely great!

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT CYCLING I love riding my bike. Whether it's a simple commute, a high-intensity road race, a jaw-grinding brevet, fixie rides thru packed Indian city or a kick-ass technical single track – I love it all. Apart from riding bicycles, I love being all geeky and know everything there is to know about bicycles, technology, bike fit, and service. I started BUMSONTHESADDLE to share this passion for cycling.
