A flat is something we all hate, but its something that’s inevitable.
Every biker should have some basic understanding of tires and tubes – helps us keep our bikes in optimum condition and maybe event prevent a flat.
As usual Sheldon brown has a pretty authoritative post on Flats
Some points that we liked in specific
- Your Tire
- Tube inspection
- Patch Kits
- Glueless Patches
- Kinds of flats
- Re-install the tire after fixing the flat
- Tire liners
- Tire repair
Another good read – why your patches can come loose
Definitely a good read before you race at the next BBCh race :)

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT CYCLING
I love riding my bike. Whether it’s a simple commute, a high-intensity road race, a jaw-grinding brevet, fixie rides thru packed Indian city or a kick-ass technical single track – I love it all. Apart from riding bicycles, I love being all geeky and know everything there is to know about bicycles, technology, bike fit, and service.
I started BUMSONTHESADDLE to share this passion for cycling.
DISCIPLINE: Partial towards MOUNTAIN BIKING but love it all
