At BumsOnTheSaddle we firmly believe that the bicycle is a simple solution to some of the world’s most complicated problems, and we love to support folks who actually make an effort to make a difference.
The Glass Half Full, a research oriented social adventure sees a team of two (WiebkeAnka Koch and Kalyan Akkipeddi) on cycles covering around 12,000km of the heartland of rural India, across all states in about 210 days!
Instead of “eradicating poverty”, the focus is on “creating adequacy”. Creating adequacy is about ensuring that the inhabitants have sustainable access to factors that contribute to living a life in dignity
This journey begins on the 1st of January 2011 from Mumbai.
Neville is riding from Bangalore to Mumbai to raise funds for the Health Awareness Centre, a corporation in Mumbai that runs a recovery centre to treat so called ‘terminally ill’ cancer patients with diet and exercise to improve their quality of life and attempt to reverse the disease
