Basic bicycle maintenance workshop

written by rohan_kini on August 31st, 2009 @ 03:14 PM

We would be having the much requested Basic Bicycle Maintenance workshop at BumsOnTheSaddle the coming Saturday.

Time: 10am.
Where: BumsOnTheSaddle ( map and directions )
What to get: you, your bike and tools that own or have stolen.. umm borrowed
Entrance fee: a pint of whatever you like actually (it can get hot out there) and in the heat of the moment you will be glad you have that pint with you.

in short – time to meet up, work on our bikes, learn a bit and have a good time whilst doing it.

Phil would be the Chief Wrench at the workshop and will be taking the masses thru the nitty gritties of bicycle maintenance so that your bike feels as good as it did when you bought it.

A hard core biker ( he was among the top three at the previous BBCh race ) he rides regularly with TheWhitefield Riders. Luckily for us he has also worked at multiple bike shops across the US and has some good experience working on all kinds of bicycles :)

The good folks from The BSA Hercules Cyclothon 2009 also want to drop in and talk about the upcoming Cyclothon after the workshop. If you get your cheque books (cash not accepted) you could register then n there. More details on their official site

As usual, please do leave a comment with some contract details or signup using the signup form so that we know you are interested.

This would help us figure out how many are interested and plan accordingly.

Thanks for arranging the event guys! Was awesome. Esp Phil explaining the setting up of derailleurs to us was fantastic. Rohans puncture lessons will sure do a lot of good to all the bikers out there. Do convey our thanks to Phil for being so generous in sharing his knowledge with us. And to the good guys at BOTS (Rohan, Vasu, Nikil, Sid,.etc).. thx guys! One point to end with: We bikers kinda mobbed Phil and he frequently kept telling us to step back a few feet so that guys at the back also could see. It is also in the interest of guys at the back who also would want to see the happenings.
