Workshop on stretching and other biker stuff

written by rohan_kini on October 20th, 2009 @ 10:11 AM

However good a bicycle might be, the biker is what completes the awesome machine !

With the biking community growing at such an awesome rate, we at BOTS thought it was essential to get someone knowledgeable to talk to us about common biker related problem, stretching etc. Important stuff that will prevent injuries and keep us pedaling.

Yup, this is a workshop for you the rider. Not your bike ! So leave the spandex at home.

When: 24th Oct 2009
What time: 7pm sharp
Where: BumsOnTheSaddle

Dr. Sushal Shanthakumar from Hyderabad (a fellow biker !) has kindly agreed to talk to the biking community in Bangalore and help us understand our bodies better so that we can work harder towards become better cyclists.

Thanks a ton Doc !

Some Q & A

Who is Dr Sushal ?

He is a Banglorean through & through. Breezed thru Kumarans, NCJ , MS Ramaiah and did his M.S in Orthopaedics in June 2009 from K.I.M.S Hubli. He is an avid sports person and has been following the Tour de France since the days of Ulrich Basso and Lance. He also played basketball for Jayangar Sports Club, JSC.

He modestly mentioned that he might have a lot to learn from us as cyclists !

What can I expect ?

Doc will be talking about stretching, the whys and hows. Common cycling injuries and how to prevent them. A bit about the knee as its a common complaint of many cyclists and some rehabilitation protocols.

If you have questions feel free to paste them in the registration form, or ask them on that day.

Duration ?

maybe 1 – 1.5 hours.

Should I get anything for the session ?

a list of questions you would like to ask an orthopaedician

Can I help out ?

Sure – we would definitely need some help in setting up the place. Making sure the projectors, mic etc are all setup. We would also like to shoot the whole thing and edit it so that bikers across the country can benefit.

If you think you want to help out please do mention it in the registration form
